Wado Exl Competition – October 2008
Hi all,
Firstly, I would like to say a huge WELL DONE to everyone who entered the Wado Exl Comp last month. I would also like to thank the Coaches and Parents who came along and gave their support!!!
We had a very good day out, with many competitors coming away with a well deserved trophy (or two J).
The results were as follows:
Kata Results
Genna : Wado Exl Black Belt Cup - 1st Place (Gold)
Ladies Event 3rd Kyu & above - 2nd Place (Silver)
Mark : Mens Event - 1st Place (Gold)
Taylor : Boys Event - 2nd Place (Silver)
Ryan M, Ryan W and Brandon all entered Kata events and worked very hard but just came short of a medal. A job well done all round!!!
Kumite Results
Dale : Mens Fight Event - 1st Place (Gold)
Leigh : Mens Fight Event - 1st Place (Gold)
Mark : Mens Fight Event - 1st Place (Gold)
Senior Mens Team: Dale, Leigh & Mark - 2nd Place (Silver)
Ryan M also entered the Kumite and again worked very hard. When the bell went it was very close in points and Ryan missed out on 3rd place by a very small amount.
Again, a job well done!!!!
All of the competitors put out a very high standard of work and did Derby Karate Academy very proud. As always we continue to be a very hard act to follow.
Well done everyone and keep up the good work!!!!

Grading
Well done to everyone that took part in our grading at the end of last year.
It was a good effort from everyone and the standard was continually high.
Well done again from all the Coaches at Derby Karate Academy and keep up the hard work!!!
Competition
At the beginning of Feburary, we took a number of students of all different ages and grades to the Mushindo competition in Wolverhampton.
Well done to everyone that took part and also a big thank you to the Coaches and volunteers who came along and supported the event.
We had a very good day and came away from the competition with a few medals.
The results of the competition are as follows:-
Boys 4th Kyu & below
Taylor Brown - 2nd Place (Silver).
Boys 3rd Kyu & above
Ryan Webster - 1st Place (Gold).
Ryan Minion - 2nd Place (Silver).
Luke Smith - 3rd Place (Bronze).
Senior Ladies
Hannah Marsden - 1st Place (Gold).
Team Event
Ryan M, Ryan W & Luke - 2nd Place (Silver).
Pairs Event
Brandon Carr & Taylor Brown - 3rd Place (Bronze).
Again, on behalf of all Coaches at D.K.A. a big well done to everyone that entered!!
